Business name : Burghfield Sailing Club

Burghfield Sailing Club is one of the largest inland sailing clubs in the country. The lake has over 200 acres of sailable water and lies along the beautiful Kennet Valley so benefiting from the prevailing south-westerly winds.

The club is open every day from sunrise to sunset. You can race on most Sundays and on Wednesday evenings during the summer.

The Club Office is usually open Tuesday 10-2, Wednesday-Sunday 10-4 (additional hours for events). See the Information->Contact page for up-to-date times.

The clubhouse has excellent changing facilities, a bar with a lounge area and catering facilities. Hot drinks and snacks are provided on Sundays and, on Wednesday evenings in the summer, enjoy an evening meal after the race.

The Club provides safety cover during races, special events, junior training sessions and on Saturday (from 11am) during the summer months.
Inside the club
The club membership is made up of dinghy sailors with some sailbords. Fleet racing is very popular with Lasers, Enterprises, RS400s, RS200s, Phantoms, National 12s, Blazes, 420s and Toppers plus many others racing in fast and slow handicap classes.

There is a very active junior fleet sailing Optimists and Toppers with abilities ranging from absolute beginners to a good standard for racing in national events.
The Club holds a number of social events throughout the year in the spacious clubhouse and produces newsletters to keep members up-to-date.
Balcony fleet
One of the great things about Burghfield is how easy it is to watch the racing from the club house. Even on the coldest days (often: because it is too cold for them to go sailing!), people will be on the balcony watching what is going on out on the lake.
