Business name : Cambridge University Cruising Club

Welcome to the Cambridge University Yacht Club (CUYC) Website. CUYC, one of the many clubs of Cambridge University, offers a wide variety of sailing opportunities for everyone from complete beginners to more hardened sailors. Explore the website and find out what we have to offer, such as upcoming trips and courses found here, or the training programme we offer here.
The club, with a membership in excess of 200, brings together a majority of current students, Alumni of the University and other keen sailors to offer some fantastic opportunities. Currently owning and operating two club yachts, we aim to offer a high volume of affordable sailing and teaching so as many people as possible can enjoy it.
Since its foundation in 2002, as a section of the C. U. Cruising Club, the club has grown considerably with the purchase of two club yachts, Kestrel (2008) and Puffin (2012) and its formation as club in its own right in 2013. Today it is one of the the largest clubs in the University and definitely among the most active with trips most weekends during term and an epic summer programme each summer.
Our Cruising Programme is very active with our 8-berth Sigma 38, Kestrel, out at weekends during term and throughout the vacations. She can often be found exploring the coastlline of the East Coast or the Solent or during the Summer, along with Puffin, she is sent further afield on the Summer Programme where crews swap weekly in more exotic locations. Recent years have seen the Summer Programme head to the Fjords of Norway (2013, 2008), the glorious Canary Islands (2012) and the beautiful archipelagoes of the Baltic.
