The Lido Junior Sailing Foundation (“the Foundation”) was created as a result of a generous bequest by the late LIYC Commodore and Mrs. Marty Lockney.
The Foundation is a California non-profit public benefit corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to the Foundation are deductible as charitable contributions to the extent permissible by the Internal Revenue Code.

The purpose of the Foundation is to support sailing, seamanship and life-skills, including sportsmanship, teamwork, community service and safety, for youths and young adults in Orange County regardless of race, color, creed, religion or national origin.
Support can be provided to other non-profit public benefit organizations, non-selective membership organizations open to the general public) and directly to suppliers of products or services in support of our purposes. The Foundation does not provide funding or travel reimbursement for individuals.

Examples of activities which the Foundation supports are high school and college sailing teams; non-exclusive sailing organizations (U.S. Sailing, INSA, Balboa Bay Fleet, Sea Scouts); instructor training courses; CPR, first aid and other water safety programs; racing, sailing or seamanship training, courses, lectures or clinics; Olympic campaigns, purchase of equipment, trophies, services or supplies used in such training or regattas open to Orange County junior sailors.
Requests for support must be in writing and contain the information on the Foundation’s Request For Support form.
