Der SCTWV-Achensee wurde 1960 als Sektion des Tiroler Wassersportvereins gegründet und ist seit 1962 Mitglied des österreichischen Segelverbandes. Seit 1973 ist der SCTWV-Achensee ein selbständiger Verein und Mieter des derzeitigen Clubgeländes des Prälatenhofes in Maurach.
