Club activities range from social events to national race meetings with competitors travelling from all over the country. Club racing begins the first weekend in February and continues up to Boxing Day, only January is used for rest. Castle Cove is a thriving, family club which sails in Portland Harbour in Weymouth. Established in 1923 in a cliff-top chalet overlooking Castle Cove it has grown steadily and in September 2002 we moved to our present clubhouse at the end of Old Castle Road. Chelmarsh Sailing Club was established in 1965 when the South Staffordshire Waterworks Company acquired its new reservoir, covering an area of approximately 100 acres. Heute, am 4. Advent waren die RC-Laser zu besuch im DBYC und haben die Tradition des DBYC aufgegriffen und ihre Frostbite-Serie gestartet. Die Regatta bestand aus 8 Wettfahrten mit 2 Streichern und war eine Teils hart umkämpfte Wettfahrt und zum anderen Teil eine amüsante Veranstaltung, wie das „offizielle“ Outfit verrät. Die Frostbite fand unter „staatlicher Aufsicht“ statt. Die WaPo hatte sich offensichtlich über die vielen roten Zipfelmützen gewundert und kam auch auf eine kleine Stippvisite vorbei. Der Vorstand der ESV lädt ein zur Jahreshauptversammlung am 20. Februar. Die Veranstaltung beginnt wie gewohnt um 16:00 Uhr im Restaurant des Tennisclubs “Vier Jahreszeiten”, Windmühlenweg 55, Groß-Flottbek, Nähe Elbe-Einkaufzentrum.
