Business name : East End Yacht Club
A small group of men met in a temporary building on Carroll Avenu9_eeyc-club-south-yarde for the purpose of organizing a new yacht club. Their objective was to provide a suitable clubhouse, grounds and anchorage for the convenience of its members. In order to further encourage boating in all its forms, promote social recreation and interaction between its members, the Club was later organized on May 21, 1912 as the East End Yacht Club Inc.
The Auxiliary was formed in 1955 to “aid and assist the East End Yacht Club, through the Board of Governors.” It is a GREAT WAY to meet new friends and participate in bettering our Club.
In the past, the Auxiliary has paid for certain improvements to the Club, such as new Griffin Hall window treatments and furniture for the Game Room.
Annual events include the Commodore’s Brunch, Commodore’s Ball, Auxiliary Get Together (with Sister clubs), Holiday Fair and Children’s Christmas Party. Some functions are added throughout the year, such as Race Night, Margarita Night to raise money.
Membership is open to spouses, parents, siblings and children sponsored by a member in good standing of the East End Yacht Club, must be female and over the age of 21. We also have an Annual Auxiliary Membership, open to anyone a member of EEYC (in good standing) chooses to sponsor. This must be renewed each year.
Applications can be found in the Bar, on the Auxiliary Board. Fill out, place in Mailbox for Auxiliary. You’ll be notified of interview date, followed by a vote on membership. Process can take 2-3 months. If you have any questions, contact anyone on the Board of the Auxiliary … They will gladly help you. Note: There are no meetings in July or August each year, process will be longer over the summer.
