Business name : Whistler Sailing Association
The Whistler Sailing Association is a group of recreational dinghy sailing enthusiasts who enjoy getting out on Whistler’s Alta Lake for a sail. We meet throughout the summer Wednesday nights for a fun race followed by a social. We are a fully accredited Sailing School and we teach the Sail Canada curriculum. We feature Sunday Drop in Sailing lessons where members and visitors can simply come down with the family and get out and sail on the lake. We offer a Seasons Pass membership for individuals without boats. For beginners or those wanting to improve their sailing skills, we have Adult and Kids Learn-to-Sail programs. Our purpose is to promote sailing by offering affordable “Learn to Sail” courses and clinics for all ages and abilities. Furthermore we strive to promote community spirit by organizing community sailing events.
Whistler Sailing Association was formed in October 2008 in response to strong local interest. Formed as a non-profit society, Whistler Sailing has grown rapidly to a membership of approximately 200 sailors. As a non-profit organization, volunteers form the backbone of success. Volunteers run many activities from our courses, our club socials and races, to our boat repair and maintenance, and club administration. WSA has a growing team of Certified Sailing Coaches running instructional sailing programs from May to October each year on Alta Lake.
