Bartley Sailing Club is situated on Bartley Reservoir in the south-western outskirts of Birmingham. Close to the M42 and M5 we have 120 acres of clean water and generally excellent wind conditions. The Reservoir at Bartley Green, Birmingham was built around 1900. The water in Bartley runs entirely by gravity from the Elan Valley in Wales. Im Dezember 1973 gründete Wolfgang Bente den Bordesholmer Segelverein, Der Verein hatte anfangs keine eigene Steganlage direkt am See. In den ersten Jahren waren wir Gastlieger am Steg des Angelvereins. 1980 konnte der BoSV umziehen in die Eidersteder Strasse auf ein Pachtgrundstück. The first Talk and Social for the year featured an introduction to Scuba Diving given by Brian Mansell from the Chelmsford Sub Aqua Club, ably helped by Friday Graham and Brian.  After demonstrations of the equipment needed for diving they described the excitement and adventure in diving to explore both wrecks and underwater habitats, but the highlight of the evening was a video of a seal investigating the divers in waters near the Farne Islands.Zoe then revealed the ‘must have’ […]

Heute, am 4. Advent waren die RC-Laser zu besuch im DBYC und haben die Tradition des DBYC aufgegriffen und ihre Frostbite-Serie gestartet. Die Regatta bestand aus 8 Wettfahrten mit 2 Streichern und war eine Teils hart umkämpfte Wettfahrt und zum anderen Teil eine amüsante Veranstaltung, wie das „offizielle“ Outfit verrät.
