Bartley Sailing Club is situated on Bartley Reservoir in the south-western outskirts of Birmingham. Close to the M42 and M5 we have 120 acres of clean water and generally excellent wind conditions. The Reservoir at Bartley Green, Birmingham was built around 1900. The water in Bartley runs entirely by gravity from the Elan Valley in Wales. In den ersten Jahren waren wir Gastlieger am Steg des Angelvereins. 1980 konnte der BoSV umziehen in die Eidersteder Strasse auf ein Pachtgrundstück. The first Talk and Social for the year featured an introduction to Scuba Diving given by Brian Mansell from the Chelmsford Sub Aqua Club, ably helped by Friday Graham and Brian. Heute, am 4. Advent waren die RC-Laser zu besuch im DBYC und haben die Tradition des DBYC aufgegriffen und ihre Frostbite-Serie gestartet. Die Regatta bestand aus 8 Wettfahrten mit 2 Streichern und war eine Teils hart umkämpfte Wettfahrt und zum anderen Teil eine amüsante Veranstaltung, wie das „offizielle“ Outfit verrät.
