Im Dezember 1973 gründete Wolfgang Bente den Bordesholmer Segelverein, Der Verein hatte anfangs keine eigene Steganlage direkt am See. In den ersten Jahren waren wir Gastlieger am Steg des Angelvereins. 1980 konnte der BoSV umziehen in die Eidersteder Strasse auf ein Pachtgrundstück. Eine Steganlage konnte gebaut werden und mit den Jahren kam ein Carport als Ersatz für ein Vereinsheim hinzu. Von Anbeginn wurden jedes Jahr 3 Regatten gesegelt und intensive Jugendarbeit geleistet.
